Comedy. Variety. Community.
Rokkus Radio is a first-of-its kind web comedy
told using a bunch of different online platforms.
It's about a crazy, rock & roll radio station,
so one of the platforms we use is a real,
actual, 24/7 crazy, rock & roll radio station.
It's kinda "Spinal Tap" for online radio.
Rokkus Radio is the story of Rey King
- former big time rock DJ whose fall from grace
was far and fast. He's taking one last shot at redemption
by running a second rate online radio station.
The only people he has to help him are... unusual.
They all have great knowledge of rock music. Each one is studied in a different variety - from the 1960's to 2012 - but their opinions of Rey generally run the gamut from "slightly annoyed" to "dissect his brain."
Undaunted, Rey sets out to build
"The Home of Rock on the Internet"
- a social network where fans can make friends
with the DJs and with their favorite bands.
A place for rock fans and rock musicians.
So to tell Rey's story, we needed to construct
a real, actual "Home of Rock on the Internet."
Rokkus.com is where it all comes to life.
You enter the story by joining the community.
You can rub elbows with the characters
and even change the course of the plot.
You can make friends with other fans,
or members of your favorite local bands.
And with our rewards program, the more members help
build the community, the more points they earn.
Points can be redeemed for merchandise,
special online events, and more.
We help musicians network
with other artists, interact with your fans
and promote your music, all for free.
And all while telling the story of the
weirdest bunch of DJs north of the South Pole.
The story can be followed on handhelds
and pad devices, and we are working on
all kinds of new features and extensions
into other platforms. As technology changes,
Rokkus will use it to tell Rey's story.
It's a lot of fun, a lot of great rock and roll music,
and a lot of laughs.
